AVO Invents has developed an intelligent radar-based security system designed to provide advanced monitoring and environmental awareness for tents, fishing bivvies and other outdoor environments.

Unlike conventional security devices that rely on basic motion detection, our technology uses advanced radar sensing to monitor activity both inside and outside an enclosed space.

The system combines custom electronics, embedded firmware, environmental sensors and a dedicated mobile application in a compact, integrated design.

Intelligent Detection Zones

One of the system's key capabilities is the ability to configure separate detection areas.

Users can adjust the monitored zones to distinguish between activity within the tent and movement occurring outside it.

This allows the system to be configured for different environments and individual security requirements, providing greater control over what activity should trigger an alert.

More Than Security

The device also incorporates additional environmental monitoring capabilities, including:

• Carbon Monoxide Monitoring: Integrated CO sensing provides additional awareness of potentially hazardous carbon monoxide levels.
• Humidity Monitoring: Environmental humidity measurements provide useful information about conditions inside the tent or bivvy.
• Radar-Based Movement Detection: Monitoring of human movement without requiring cameras or conventional PIR motion sensors.

By combining these technologies, the device offers a broader monitoring platform rather than functioning solely as a traditional security alarm.

Connected Technology

A dedicated Android application has been developed for configuring and interacting with the system. iOS support is planned.

Features developed include adjustable detection zones, device configuration, diagnostic capabilities and wireless firmware updates.

The ability to update firmware remotely supports continued product development, allowing functionality to be refined and improved without physically accessing the device's internal electronics.

Designed for Further Applications

Although initially developed with outdoor security in mind, the underlying radar technology presents opportunities across other sectors.

Potential applications include building monitoring, occupancy awareness, industrial environments and other situations where contactless detection may be beneficial.

These applications remain areas for further research and development.

Development Status

A functioning hardware prototype, embedded firmware and companion Android application have been developed. iOS support is planned.

Ongoing work includes refining detection behaviour, improving reliability and expanding the system's monitoring capabilities.

The technology demonstrates AVO Invents' ability to integrate advanced sensing, electronic hardware, embedded software, wireless communication and mobile application development into a complete working system.
